the art by pedal

Thanks to a very appreciated tip (H), I used tokyo art beat to find a couple good shows amongst the glass and steel of the Tokyo station area. Both were free, and the art, high-end, which is likely due to the nature of the ward.
Gallery Sho put on a good exhibit, though nothing necessarily that I'd recommend--Betty Thompkins was interesting in a thirty-years ago, Joy of Sex kind of way. And apparently, they may have still had trouble getting into Japan. haha.
Then, just down the street, at Galerie Tokyo Humanite, I saw some fantastic prints by Kiyoshi Kawashima. I spent a long while with these, finding them uniquely readable and expressive. I saw an articulate and sustained look at the Japanese country side, the city, and writing, and alongside a possible narrative they were simply visually captivating. I would recommend these.

Riding home, I came across a huge complex in Tokyo with a glass floor lit from below and some large architecture. Here's what I looked at:

in Japan, though it says "information", the actual
information is almost never in English. haha
